Biography
Late 2006 saw Brisbane sisters Emma & Laura Nainby return to Australia after spending 5 years abroad in Vienna, Austria with their missionary family. Having travelled extensively throughout Australia, America and parts of Europe performing their originally composed songs, its no surprise their arrival home had them headed straight for the studio. Spending 18 months recording and producing their debut EP, “Audience of One” was released in March 2008. Visions collided in 2008 when they met up with childhood friend and drummer, Matt Walton. Soon after, Tim Dennis, an engineer and professional electric guitarist, felt called to join the band. The most recent addition to the band is Nate Josbena, who touched down in Brisbane, Australia mid 2008 after leaving his home New York to be their bassist. They have won third place in the Australian Songwriting Competition for their song ‘Your Glory’, supported international solo performer Paul Colman, and have been invited to Australia’s capital city, Canberra, to play at Parliament’s Sunday morning celebration for its 20th anniversary. 2009 has been a busy year so far for Nainby, headlining Sonfest, a major artist at Easterfest playing on the 96.5fm Bigtop, and having started recording their full length album with mixer Ainslie Grosser (Rebecca St James, Paul Colman, Rush of Fools, Britt Nicole) of Nashville TN.
Vision
There is a cry in the youth of this generation that will not be silenced. Nainby believes that now is the time for our generation to rise up, and through their cutting music and lyrics, they encourage ordinary people to believe in a personal God who has an extraordinary call upon their lives. “We want to provide an empty book for the audience to fill with their stories of how God used them to be a history maker in the world. That’s what we’re alive for”. We want to see a generation of youth catch the vision of who God really is and what He has planned for their lives. Through presenting the truth of Jesus Christ, Nainby desires to be a channel for change.
